As global urbanization accelerates toward a projected population peak of 10.2 billion by 2100, traditional horizontal city models have become increasingly unsustainable. This paper proposes the High-Performance City and the linear urban system of Strings as a necessary evolution in urban design that synthesizes the social cohesion of the village with the economic intensity of the city to create high-density, vibrant environments that significantly reduce the global ecological footprint.
